FAQs

Am I eligible for maternity pay?

If you’re taking time off to have a baby, please let us know. We’ll quickly confirm whether or not we’re able to pay you maternity pay. The rules are set by the government. Broadly speaking, you must:

  • earn at least £123 on average per week before tax;
  • give us at least 28 days’ notice before the date on which you want to stop working;
  • send us the MATB1 certificate that your doctor or midwife will give you; and
  • have worked for Key Portfolio continuously for at least 26 weeks up to the ‘qualifying week’, which is the 15th week before your due date.

If we’re not able to pay you maternity pay directly, we can still assist you with claiming through your local benefits office. Get in touch as soon as possible and we’ll let you know how we can help.

"When I left my permanent job to move to supply teaching, I was nervous about the financial implications for my family. When I found out I was expecting my baby, I thought the worst… but I’m so thankful that Key provides a service which backs the rights of parents to take the time off to take care of their newborn. Fantastic employment service with great customer care."
