You may have heard that Umbrella employees can claim a much wider range of expenses than you see listed in this guide, including travel (mileage and public transport) and subsistence (food and drink). In the past, that was indeed the case.
However, on 6th April 2016, new legislation came into force that prevents contractors claiming expenses, except in very limited circumstances. You’ll find more details about this on our blog: A world without expenses.
